Construct My Future Internship Program

We’re excited to share an update on our Construct My Future Internship Program! After completing their required training, our students are heading out to job sites this week to begin their internships with a fantastic group of industry partners across Oklahoma.

Here’s a look at where our students are placed and what they’ll be learning:

Van Hoose Construction – Interns are part of the exciting development of the new Lock Supply manufacturing plant in Oklahoma City, gaining insight into large-scale commercial construction.

Silver Star Construction – Known for excellence in civil construction, students are learning about infrastructure and site development projects.

FlintCo – Interns are working on the University of Oklahoma’s athletic facility, learning from one of the nation’s top builders in campus construction.

Great Plains Construction – Students are gaining hands-on experience operating heavy equipment, an essential skill in the construction industry.

Guernsey Construction – Two interns with a passion for architecture and engineering are gaining firsthand experience in design-build processes and project planning.

Kirby Smith Machinery – Focused on diesel mechanics, interns are learning to maintain and repair the machines that keep construction moving.

Lingo Construction – Known for unique and distinctive spaces, Lingo is mentoring students through creative and complex building projects.

OK HVAC – Interns are learning HVAC systems while working on-site at Tinker Air Force Base, gaining exposure to military-grade infrastructure.

WW Steel – A leader in structural steel, students are getting a behind-the-scenes look at a confidential new project, learning design, fabrication, and erection of steel structures.

These students are entering the industry at an exciting time, with Oklahoma’s manufacturing boom creating new opportunities and momentum across the state.

A huge thank you to our incredible partners for their mentorship and support—you're not just building infrastructure, you’re helping build futures.

Special thanks to USI for providing the curriculum and Construct My Future for making this opportunity possible for our students.

And of course, a big shoutout to Career Specialists Sharee Ferguson and Krissa Cavnar for their hard work in facilitating and coordinating this program!
